How far would you go to experience ‘The Dark Knight’?

1800 Rs (in tickets), 1400 km (from Chennai to Hyderabad and back), 24hr (in a bus) and one movie.. The Dark Knight in IMAX.

Definitely worth it.

After Prestidigitator had send me a link to this article I knew I had to see this movie in IMAX. And as with all crazy things, Johnny joined in from Bangalore.

    Ah! Finally another soul who watched it at the IMAX. I’ve watched it twice already and believe me the normal 70 mm screen DOES NOT even compare to the IMAX.

    The amazing thing is that I’m psyched for my third repeat viewing tomorrow. Great re-watch value.

    And dude…I’m proud of you…for traveling all the way to Hyderabad. But then again, if I was there, we’d have done the same thing! :)

    1800 for ticket? IMAX wasn’t that costly an year ago. Did you buy in Black?

  3. July 21, 2008 at 08:36

    No No ..the bus ticket included. Ticket for IMAX was 200

    @Swen: But I thought you were a Marvel guy. LOL. I am so jealous of you two, having got to see The Dark Knight in IMAX. Will have to catch it sometime on the big screen.

    I’d definitely go that far. If I wasn’t bound to Austria right now, I would already be gone to the UK…

    Envy, envy, envy… it’s evil.

    @Baph
    Well you should have booked in advance :) . I am not a marvel guy. I am a DC guy who happens to like Spiderman a lot, My Bro is a Marvel guy

    @Swen: “I am not a marvel guy. I am a DC guy…” Hehehehe. A lot of Marvel guys are jumping ship now that DC-dude Batman kicked Marvel-dude Spidey’s ass at the box-office. LOL.

  9. July 22, 2008 at 04:36

    Hush .. I have always been a DC fan? When did i say otherwise?

  10. July 22, 2008 at 04:49

    Hey, u watched it here? When? I was there too…

  11. July 22, 2008 at 04:50

    @Indisch
    I watched it on Saturday at 5.15 show.

  12. July 22, 2008 at 04:51

    Swenny you little s**t! Remember how we used to have fights in college as to who was cooler – Batman or Spiderman? You were always the Spidey guy!

  13. July 22, 2008 at 04:53

    Yes .. I remember that. and I still maintain that Spidey can kick Batman’s ass. But I always preferred the DC universe over Marvel universe.

  14. July 22, 2008 at 07:25

    “Hush .. I have always been a DC fan? ” :)
    you had to mention HUSH to make your point.

  15. July 22, 2008 at 07:27

    I didn’t even realise that :)

    I have not seen this movie yet, but everything I heard says it is great. I know it is playing at the Imax about 20 miles from here. Maybe I will check it out there instead my local ciniplex.

  17. July 22, 2008 at 11:58

    @Jason
    Trust me , its worth it. Do watch it in IMAX first and then a few more times in the ciniplex :)

    “and I still maintain that Spidey can kick Batman’s ass”

    Hmm, not sure, but if Batman can beat Carnage in a bare-knuckle fight (http://www.spiderfan.org/comics/reviews/spiderman_non_marvel/batman1.html) and Carnage can probably defeat Spidey in a fair fight, methinks that would imply that Batman > Carnage >= Spidey

    Or not. Meh. :)

    Ok, neither did that become a link automatically, nor can I even see the whole thing properly. Crappy WordPress! ;-)

    Here’s the link again for those interested:

    @Ravenent
    I am not sure about this comic , but that should be logically (logic usually doesn’t apply to comic book worlds) impossible considering the powers of carnage. Out smart maybe , but hand to hand = one drunk writer. :)

    And stop trying to instigate this issue. I am pretty sure you have the same view point on this.

  21. July 22, 2008 at 13:09

    ..that would imply that Batman > Carnage >= Spidey

    Reminds me of the Principle of induction, and a related joke I read in MathsToday long ago.

    Swenny: Give an example of the principle of induction.
    Joe: Dude, I love you and you love your daughter, so by the principle of induction, I love your ….
    :P

    @Bips: I’ll keep that in mind when i start spawning offsprings. Meanwhile bro – I love you too. And thats all I need. ;)

    The IMAX experience was beyond belief. I’ve seen it 5 times in IMAX and badly hope it gets re-released in January as rumored. Good for you, though – I once drove 5 hours to see ‘The Matrix Revolutions’ in IMAX – big f-ing mistake!! And worse I had front row seats!! And then had to drive another 5hours! In the snow!!! And the film sucked!! Oh, the pain and horror….
